Adhesive Coverage
In applications where a good bond between the wood and
the nail is required, a vinyllic-based resin is used to
coat the nails. As a nail is driven, the heat generated
as the nail moves against the wooden surface causes the
vinyllic coating to melt thus aiding driveability. As
the resin cools, so it forms a bond between the wood and
the nail thus preventing the nail from being "pulled".
The test is used to find out if the nails are being
coated effectively by providing data about coating weights
and resin-surface areas.
This test is performed weekly. |
